A breast lift or a mastopexy  is usually warranted after excessive weight loss or after pregnancy when breasts may appear sagging or drooping. We typically see breast lifts with patients who are satisfied with the size of their breast but would prefer their breasts to have a more youthful appearance. However,  the procedure can be coupled with breast enlargement as well for a complete restructuring of the breast.

The typical breast lift involves an incision from areola to the base of the breast as well as underneath the breast. Excess skin and fat is removed from the breasts and the skin is stiched back together. By removing the skin and fat, the breast are lifted and have a more youthful shape.
