Another way you can judge your potential plastic surgeon, which can be equally as important, is by how well you get along with him or her. You will be spending time with the surgeon and the staff during your initial consultation and during follow-up visits to see how well you are healing, and you should be able to speak freely around them. You should be able to voice your goals and concerns, and ask questions, and the plastic surgeon should listen to you. Likewise, you should also listen to his input. Your ideal Plastic Surgeon is Board Certified, listens to you, educates you, and has your safety in mind, first and foremost. The plastic surgeons at ECAPS are fully trained in the wide breadth of plastic and reconstructive surgery, including all forms of Cosmetic Surgery, both surgical and non-surgical. They are both specialty trained and particularly passionate about Breast Cancer Reconstruction. They are heavily trained in Microvascular Surgery, which allows them to offer women the full array of Breast Cancer Reconstruction options, something that is not readily offered at most plastic surgery offices in northern New Jersey.

To answer this question accurately, there are several factors which must be addressed. With certain procedures, often times the limiting factor is waiting for insurance companies to authorize the procedure. If you are healthy and the procedure is cosmetic, you should not have to wait longer than one to two weeks, depending on scheduling and the facility where you would like the procedure performed.

Combinations of procedures require additional time in the operating room, increased exposure to anesthesia, and increased chance of complications. This being said, combinations are performed, most commonly for body contouring patients. However, safety is the most important issue, and will dictate all decisions regarding combinations of procedures to be performed. Your health status and the specific procedures that are being considered will all be evaluated to arrive at the safest surgical plan that accomplishes your goals. This may take the form of a surgical plan that has two or more surgical stages, often separated by several months.
