Dr. Haripriya Ayyala is a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in post-oncologic reconstruction focusing on microsurgical techniques. She graduated Alpha Omega Alpha from the George Washington University School of Medicine, completed her integrated plastic surgery residency at Rutgers, and then finished a prestigious microsurgical fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
She joins us after serving as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Yale School of Medicine where she established a comprehensive breast reconstruction and lymphatic surgery program and grew a busy reconstructive practice. She was awarded grant funding in robotic-assisted surgery and breast reconstruction and is an invited lecturer around the world. She has co-chaired multiple national plastic surgery meetings, serves on several national committees, and has published over 75 journal articles.
Dr. Ayyala specializes in autologous flap reconstruction, re-sensation techniques, and direct to implant breast reconstruction. She is one of the few surgeons in the northeast that performs immediate lymphatic reconstruction at the time of axillary lymph node dissection and offers lymphovenous bypass and vascularized lymph node transplant procedures.
Above all, Dr. Ayyala puts patient care first. When she sees a new patient, she takes time to listen to their goals and discuss every available option to meet their unique needs and values.
