Dr. Drew Marano is a highly skilled and fellowship-trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon specializing in gender affirmation surgery. Born in New York City and raised in New Jersey, he is a lifelong native of the New York metropolitan area. A classically-trained pianist, Dr. Marano received his bachelor’s degree in Music from Brown University before going on to graduate at the top of his class from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he received AOA honors.

Dr. Marano completed his six-year Integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency at the prestigious Columbia University / Cornell University program in New York City. Following his residency, he pursued further specialization in gender affirmation surgery as the first-ever Harvard University Complex Gender and Microsurgery Fellow, where he received training in the most advanced techniques in this field.

Dr. Marano is an active researcher with a focus on social and systemic barriers to gender-affirming healthcare, scarcity of providers and formalized training in gender-affirming care, and advancements and refinements of surgical techniques in gender affirmation surgery. He has over 40 publications and presentations at regional and national meetings.

Dr. Marano is fellowship-trained in facial gender surgery, breast augmentation, gender affirming mastectomy, body contouring, phalloplasty with or without urethral lengthening, metoidioplasty, and vaginoplasty. He is passionate about providing affirming care to transgender and gender diverse individuals and is committed to ensuring that his patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their transition. With his expertise, dedication, and compassionate approach, Dr. Marano is a trusted provider of gender affirmation surgery for patients throughout the New York metropolitan area and beyond.
