Patient Details:
Bilateral Nipple Sparing Mastectomy with Hybrid DIEP – our patient underwent double mastectomy for breast cancer treatment and only a handful of groups in the country perform a combination of a DIEP flap with a gummy bear implant to restore her breasts all in the same surgical setting through a hidden incision. This is ideal for patients who don’t have enough belly tissue to provide full breast volume so we combine the procedure with a small implant. The implant is now covered by healthy tissue that has been microsurgically transferred to the breast, along with reconnecting nerves to restore sensation to the breasts. These are highly complex procedures all performed at the same time as the mastectomy by our team of ECAPS Plastic Surgeons.
