What is Facial Rejuvenation?

Facial rejuvenation refers to any medical or cosmetic procedure that is applied to the face in order to reduce aging effects, and restore a younger appearance.  The term, facial rejuvenation can be applied to cosmetic procedures, such as Botox injections, but is most often associated with facelift surgery.

Botox is an alternative method of facial rejuvenation which doesn’t require surgery.  Botox is the brand name of a toxin, which when injected in small doses can reduce wrinkles in the face as a result of aging, and create a more youthful look.  The effects of these injections can often last for several months.  This is a simple and effective alternative to those who simply want to reduce facial wrinkles, and are not looking to have facelift surgery.

Facelift surgery, or rhytidectomy, usually involves an incision along the ear, and the tightening of loose skin, as well as the removal of excess skin in order to create a more youthful appearance.  In some instances, the strong tissue above the muscles may need to be tightened, and liposuction may be required on areas of the neck.
